Access:  From the intersection of Nevada Highway 373 and Sage Road, head east on Sage Road (dirt) about 1.9 miles.  Take a slight right onto Fairbanks Road about 0.15 miles and turn left (northeast) onto Mecca Road East and continue about 0.8 mile.  Take a slight right onto an unnamed dirt road about 0.5 miles and take a slight right turn about 0.25 miles to the cleared well pad area.  Click on the thumbnail image for a larger view.

Purpose
- Water Resource Conditions in the Amargosa Desert:  
NC-GWE-GF-3PA is one of seven boreholes and monitoring wells to: 1) collect baseline flow and chemical data south and west of the Nevada Nuclear Security Site, and 2) determine head relationships near the Gravity fault to help determine the role of the Gravity fault in restricting or facilitating groundwater flow in the Amargosa Valley.
