Access: From the intersection of Highway 95 and Highway 373, go west on
Highway 95 approximately 0.2 miles to the intersection of Highway 95 and the Gate 510
road, go north 1.8 miles to Powerline Road just short of the 510 gate, and go west 2.5
miles along Powerline Road.
Purpose: 1) provide lithologic samples; 2) define
the valley-fill
stratigraphic sequence and groundwater flow paths down-gradient of proposed repository; and
3) provide water level and water chemistry data.
NC-EWDP-19P is located along a key groundwater pathway
between Yucca Mountain and the Amargosa Desert. This site is a piezometer that is
being used as an observation point during the tests at NC-EWDP-19D. The 19D site is
the location of the Alluvial Testing Complex testing facilities. Current plans
include drilling injection wells and monitoring wells to be used in future tracer tests.
