Access:  Take Highway 95 north from Lathrop Wells to the Nevada Test Site (NTS) Gate 510 access road; turn right.  Go 0.8 miles to the NC-EWDP-4PA and -4PB location on the left.

Purpose: 1) provide lithologic samples;    2) define stratigraphic sequence and groundwater flow paths down-gradient of proposed repository; and 3) provide water level and water chemistry data.

NC-EWDP-4PB is located adjacent to an existing paved access road immediately south of the NTS boundary.  The site was selected to test the aquifer below a thick clay zone that is present in the area.  The borehole was drilled and logged to a total depth of 849.5 feet.
